  • Whatever evaluation process is used, the primary intent is for it to be a useful tool in setting clear expectations.
  • As much as possible, use rubrics and discussion formats with school boards because it defines what successful performance of duties looks like and causes discussion with the board to set realistic, obtainable goals.
  • If the relationship with the board is solid and stable, consider altering the timing for conducting the evaluation when it’s not the busiest for the board and superintendent. [Refer to Olivet Community Schools]
