Courageous Journey: Certification Endorsement/Enhancement
Public Act 335, enacted August 2006 allows for voluntary administrator certification and endorsement. MASA continues to play a significant role in shaping the law and regulations governing the certification options available to aspiring superintendents, and practicing administrators in Michigan. The MASA Courageous JourneyTM is Michigan’s only certification endorsement/enhancement program for superintendents.
Cohort 5, Tier 1 is now forming. Sessions begin on December 5th. The deadline to register for cohort 5 is November 28, 2011.
Certification Endorsement Planning Tool
Wondering which option is right for you or members of your administrative team? MASA’s Certification Endorsement Planning Tool can help. This new easy-to-use online decision-tree tool that will give you the information you need to start the process of certification and/or endorsement—at any administrative level.
Using the same decision-tree process used in the new Personal Curriculum Decision tool, the software guides an administrator painlessly through the process of discovering which certification or endorsement programs they are eligible for, and what the next steps are for getting started. The tool can be accessed through a link on our website, and can be used by aspiring or practicing principals, central office or superintendents. We think it will be a great help in promoting the process and getting people started in The Courageous Journey. We will also make the tool available to the other administrator associations.
This easy-to-use tool, available at http://www.actpoint.com/player/?r=8678392, is made possible by a generous in-kind contribution by TransAct, an MASA Leadership Sponsor. Their ActPoint online platform is the same technology solution that made possible the Personal Curriculum Decision Tree, a collaborative project between MASA, MAISA and the MDE.
